BSA are sponsored and owned by Chartered Organization (Sponsor). The Chartered Organization is obligated by the BSA Charter agreement to provide an adequate meeting place, including storage for Units equipment, and to secure and approve new Unit adult leaders. The chartered organization appoints a Chartered Organization Representative (Scouting Coordinator or Institutional Representative) to be the key liaison between the Units and the Chartered Organization. The Chartered Organization has the ultimate responsibility to ensure that the Units operate in full accord with all BSA policies. |
